The first X-Men movie script was written in 1984. The rise of VHS tapes began in the late 1970's, and was started by JVC, the Japan Victor Company.

Hasbro originally launched G.I. Joe as a line of military action figures in the 1960s. In 1982, Hasbro revamped the line as G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, now following the titular military branch as they battled the terrorist organization, COBRA, which led to a Marvel comic book series and a cartoon.
